Written by Steve Cannon for USSA News. In a surprise move, key Republicans in the House have come out against a bill aimed at abolishing the current tax code. The Fair Tax Act, which was introduced by Representative Buddy Carter (R-Ga.), would constitute the largest change to the U.S. system in decades and would all but abolish the current tax code, replacing it with a 30-percent sales tax that would be collected by states and then remitted to the federal Treasury.
