SIXTY YEARS

A song about spending over sixty years as an outsider and outcast. — Over sixty years of being an outsider. An outcast. A loner. A weirdo. A rebel fighter. Over sixty years. They’ve always rejected me. Hated me. Ignored me. Over sixty years. They’ve made it clear I don’t fit in. I don’t belong. I don’t. I don’t. I don’t belong here. Over sixty years. They’ve made me feel like a space alien. Living on a strange planet. With strange beings I don’t understand. And they don’t understand me. They don’t get me at all. They think I’m strange. They think I’m weird. Over sixty years. Oh I don’t belong. I don’t belong because I won’t sing the same song. I won’t think the same thoughts or act the same way or say the same things that they want me to say. I think different. I act different. I am different. So they hate me. They hate me. They’ve always hated me. I won’t go along. I don’t get along. I sing my own song. I sing my own song. I write my own song. I am my own song. And so they say that I am wrong. They say I’m wrong. But I know I’m right. And I will keep standing up and I will fight. Over sixty years. Over sixty years. Over sixty years. Over sixty years of being an outsider. An outcast. A loner. A weirdo. Over sixty years. A rebel fighter. A rebel fighter, because I know that I’m right. It’s a lonely road. But it’s the only road. And I’ve been traveling it over sixty years. Sixty years.
