We often focus on the painful deaths of innocent animals sacrificed to temporarily atone for the sins of the Hebrew people (and their converts) prior to Christ’s coming to die for our sins. But the animals killed upon the altar were not the only parties to suffer at the edge of a knife. It is interesting to note that part of being TRULY converted into Judaism required adult males to undergo the extremely painful and bloody ritual of male circumcision.
