The husband of a heroic teacher who sacrificed her life to protect her students during the horrific massacre at a Texas elementary school has passed away after a heart attack on Thursday, two days after the sudden loss of the love of his life, dying of a “broken heart” according to family members.

Joe Garcia had reportedly just finished placing flowers at a memorial for his slain high school sweetheart and wife of 24 years when he had a fatal heart attack as he sat down at the kitchen table with family members, another casualty of the murderous rampage by 18-year-old Salvadore Ramos who cold-bloodedly slaughtered 19 young children and two adults in their classroom on Tuesday, one of the victims being 46-year-old Irma Garcia who died as she shielded her students.
