Grand solar minima occur in roughly 400 year cycles. 

The most intense cycles happen about every 396 years with medium cooling cycles about every 207 years. 

We are at the start of a grand solar minimum right now which began to phase in around 2016. 

Global temperatures have been cooling about 1.5-3C per year since that time. 

Conditions are likely to last until 2070 according to some projections. 

For most of us, this will be the rest of our lives.

Researching the Wolf, Sporer, Maunder, and Dalton grand solar minima to learn more about what conditions were like during these periods of time can help us make educated choices about the ways in which we prepare for known issues which would be statistically likely to recur.
