AOC ‘disappointed’ at arrest of disgraced crypto king before she could question him

In the latest development in the story of Sam Bankman-Fried, the disgraced cofounder and CEO of bankrupt crypto trading exchange FTX was arrested in the Bahamas on Monday and Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez expressed her dismay in an uncharacteristically bland reaction to the news.

On the day before he was scheduled to testify to Congress over his role in the implosion of the exchange in which investors were fleeced out of billions, Bahamian authorities moved to make the high-profile pinch, acting on a sealed indictment issued by prosecutors in the Southern District of New York, with CNBC confirming that the charges include “wire fraud, wire fraud conspiracy, securities fraud, securities fraud conspiracy and money laundering.”

Bankman-Fried, who was expected to testify to Congress remotely, has been removed from the witness list, depriving lawmakers of the opportunity to grandstand or, in the case of Democrats, run interference for their second-largest donor during the just-completed midterm election cycle and the socialist diva took to Twitter to express her disappointment.
